The present study was conducted with the aim of explaining the structural model of academic burnout based on self-compassion with the mediating role of academic seriousness in Tolo Mehr Qom students. This descriptive research was based on the structural equation modeling method. The statistical population of this research consisted of all female undergraduate students at Tolo Mehr University in Qom, totaling 300 individuals, during the academic year 2023-2024. A total of 221 students were selected using the cluster sampling method. To collect data, Berso et al.'s (1997) academic burnout questionnaires, Reiss et al.'s (2011) short-form self-compassion questionnaire, and researcher-made academic seriousness were used. The results showed that self-compassion directly affects academic burnout (P<0.01) and academic seriousness directly affects academic burnout (P<0.01) and self-compassion directly affects academic seriousness (P<0.05) and Self-compassion predicts academic burnout through the mediation of academic seriousness (P<0.01). Based on the results of this research, self-compassion and academic seriousness are factors that affect the reduction of academic burnout. By strengthening self-compassion and academic seriousness, students can be helped to overcome academic burnout. In this regard, it is recommended to reduce academic burnout, to provide a collaborative structure in the classroom environment to increase interaction and comment on opinions and thoughts, as well as to provide access to diverse and richer learning resources for learners, and for learners to understand assignments in an attractive, meaningful and important way. so that their academic burnout will also improve.
