The present study aimed to examine the effect of life skills training on anger management and perception of competence in children. The method of the current study was quasi-experimental followed by a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The population included all 10 to 11 years old children who attended the Center for Intellectual Development of Children in 2014 in Zahedan. The sample (N = 31) was selected using census method and was randomly divided into two groups: experimental (16 individuals) and control (15 individuals). Participants of each group answered two questionnaires, including Nilsson’s Anger Inventory and Harter’s Perceived Competence Scale on three occasions: pre-test, post-test and follow-up. The experimental group participated a life skills training program three times a week. The data analyses were carried out using the analysis of covariance and Repeat measure. The results indicated that life skills training significantly decreased experimental groups’ anger and significantly increased their perception of social competence, compared to the control group (p<0.01).Based on these results, life skills training is an effective method to decrease anger and increase perception of social competence in children
