The relationship among academic burnout with mental health and spiritual intelligence

Abstract

In late years, specialists of education have considrated  to academic burnout because of its impact on process of instruction and learning.Burnoutis anegative stateof physicalexhaustion, emotionaland intellectual, which is associatedwitha deep senseoffailure. Burnout among  students  refers to feeling exhausted because of study demands, having a cynical and detached attitude toward one’s study, and feeling incompetent as a student. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to investigate the relationship between academic burnout with mental health and spiritual intelligence. 447 subjects were  selected by categorized sampling. Data were gathered using  Demographic Information Questionnaire, Academic Burnout Questionnaire (Bersu et al, 1997), General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-28) and Spiritual Intelligence Questionnaire (Abdullah zadeh et al, 2008). Data were analysed by correlation coefficient and regression analysis.The results indicatedsignificant relationship  between spiritual intelligence and mental health with academic burnout. Also the results revealed mental health and spiritual intelligence predict academic burnout and mental health is stronger predictor of academic burnout.
