Abstract
Theaim of this study was to investigate the simple and multiple relationships of self-efficacy and achievement motivation with academic adjustment. The population of this study consistedد                            d the relationship between  of all first yearundergraduate students of Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz in 1390-1391. The sample of study consisted of 200 students (100 girls, 100 boys) who were selected randomly by multi-stage random sampling method. The data was collected by general self-efficacy questionnaire Sherer, Hermen’s achievement motivation questionnaire and Measuring adjustment to college of Baker and Siryk (1984).  Pearson correlation analysis showed that positive and significant relationships exist between self-efficacy and academic adjustment; positive and significant relationships exist between achievement motivation and academic adjustment. Regression analysis showed that the combined weight of self-efficacy and achievement motivation can explain 37% of the variance in academic adjustment. Also, MANOVA showed that between male and female first year students in terms of achievement motivation, there are significant differences.
