Abstract

Psychological variables such as locus of control, flow experience and psychological empowerment are factors that play an important role in the quality of teachers' work. This study aimed to investigate the relationship between locus of control with flow experience and psychological empowerment of teachers. The method of research was correlation. Statistical population contains all 511 teachers in the second period elementary school in two levels of Zahedan. 223 teachers answered the questionnaires as a Sample size that was selected by using Stratified-random Sampling method.Data collection tools wereRutter's internal and external control questionnaire (1966), Jackson's and Auckland's flow experience questionnaire (2002) and Spreader's psychological empowerment questionnaire (1995).The results of data analysis showed that the locus of control has a (negative) and significant relationship with all components of flow experience. And as the teacher'slocus of control is more internal, they perceive the flow experience during their class activities. Also, the results indicate that there is a negative and significant relationship between the locus of control and the psychological empowerment of teachers. The correlation coefficient of the locus of control with a competency component of -0.15 was significant at the level of 0.95 (P <0.05). On the other hand, there was no significant relationship between the teacher's locus of control and other components of psychological empowerment. It can be concluded that teachers with internal control in their work environment, experienced the flow and psychologically more powerful.
