The Effectiveness of online intervention of fillial therapy on preschool Children's Eating Behavior

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of online intervention of play therapy training based on the parent-child relationship on children's eating behaviors. The present study was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest, posttest design with experimental and control groups. The statistical population of the study included all preschool children referred to counseling centers in Isfahan, from which 30 people were selected by purposive sampling and randomly assigned to experimental(15people) and control groups(15 pepole). The experimental group underwent an 8-session play therapy based on parent-child relationships in the manner of 1-hour weekly group sessions and the control group did not receive any intervention. The research tool was a questionnaire on children's eating behaviors(vardel et al, 2001). The results showed that filial therapy improved the dimensions of food objection, food enjoyment, emotional overeating, and emotional undereating of the child (p<0/05). According to the research results, it can be said that play therapy intervention based on parent-child relationships has the necessary efficiency and effectiveness in improving the dimensions of child eating behaviors.
